Research: These countries are the ‘most connected’ in the world

Research from CircleLoop has found the countries which have the fastest and most widespread 4G, 5G, and fixed broadband connections.

South Korea, unsurprisingly, comes out on top with an overall “connected score” of 9.55 out of 10. The country’s score is based on an average mobile download speed of 186.06Mbps, fixed broadband download speed of 241.58Mbps, and 98.3 percent 4G availability.

CCS Insight: 5G is becoming mainstream in some markets despite rollout slowdown

Analysts from CCS Insight report that 5G is on the verge of becoming mainstream in some advanced markets, despite a slowdown in the rollout.

The analysts believe that global 5G connections will triple to 670 million this year and will still reach 3.6 billion by 2025. However, 5G fixed wireless access is likely to remain a niche technology.

SK Telecom is launching a blockchain-powered wallet for storing national documents in a government-led digitalisation push.
